Sarah Palin is dominating the political conversation. But if she really wants to be president, she's going about it all wrong.

Not that I would ever vote for her but I am curious why Palin doesn't run on her record from her partial term as Governor. AK has a $12M surplus largely because of Palin. Instead, she prefers to conduct a half-assed "campaign" and do nothing but criticize Dems.

Alaska's revenue is dependent on two factors:

    1) Federal monies (yeah, socialism at play)

    2) Global prices of crude oil, which impacts the state's "cut" of petroleum exported to the lower 48. The price of crude oil skyrocketed while Palin was Governor, hence the increased revenue and resulting surplus.

Serious political candidates want people to talk to them, whereas political posers (are ya listening, Donald? Sarah?) want people to talk about them.
